Are you passionate about education, workforce development, and strengthening Vermont communities?
Vermont Adult Learning (VAL) is seeking new members to join our Board of Trustees. As Vermont’s largest adult education provider, VAL serves more than 1,500 learners annually through learning centers in Burlington, St. Albans, Middlebury, Rutland, White River Junction, Springfield, and Brattleboro, as well as through online programs available statewide.
Our programs help adults earn high school diplomas, improve English language skills, prepare for careers, continue their education, and achieve personal goals. Every day, we work to create opportunities that change lives, strengthen families, and build stronger communities across Vermont.
We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference through strategic leadership, community engagement, advocacy, and fundraising. We are especially interested in individuals with experience in fundraising, education, workforce development, business, finance, communications, human resources, nonprofit leadership, law, technology, or community leadership.
Board members bring diverse experiences, perspectives, and skills to help guide the future of our organization and the learners we serve. Most important is a commitment to our mission and a desire to help expand educational and economic opportunities for Vermont adults.
