Ashley serves as Regional Director of VAL’s two Windsor County Learning Centers.

Ashley is deeply committed to our students. When she sees a need, she finds a way to address it.  Some students arrive after a full day of work and are hungry.  Ashley applied for a grant from a local grocery store and received funding to provide healthy snacks for students.  As VAL reopened after COVID-19 closings, students needed encouragement to come in for academic assessments, a crucial step in earning their H.S. Diplomas.  Ashley worked with staff to create “assessment goody bags” to incentivize students to safely return and remain on track.

Ashley, a former AmeriCorps VISTA, serves on the Board of the Springfield, Vermont, Chamber of Commerce.  She works with community partners to elevate awareness about adult education and is consistently pleasant and professional, even during a stressful pandemic!

“Ashley consistently shows a level of maturity and professionalism far beyond her years.  She is dedicated and deeply engaged in her community and her work.  She moves easily from frontline work, advising and teaching at-risk students, to high level meetings, supervising two offices and negotiating with administrators from other organizations.” ~Joe Przyperhart, Director of Programs

Vermont Adult Learning nominated Ashley as a 2020 Vermont Business Magazine Rising Star.
