Welcome to Vermont Adult Learning’s Blog! We look forward to sharing stories from our work.

Vermont Adult Learning’s mission is to create an innovative, inclusive and equitable learning environment that provides personalized opportunities for education and career development for Vermont residents by building relationships, strengthening communities and fostering life-long learning.

Vermont Adult Learning works for the day when all Vermonters are prosperous and have the life skills and knowledge to achieve success in their careers, family and community. Further, we envision Vermont Adult Learning as a leader in education and training for those 16 years and older, and as a key resource in helping Vermonters to be successful in achieving their goals.

Suzanne Buck says:

Virtual learning for many is not only new but frightening. What do I do if the internet is not working and I am supposed to be meeting virtually? What do I do if I have no internet worth speaking of? Many are coming to find that internet reliability and connectivity is really about where you live. I have colleagues in the Northeast Kingdom that must drive an hour to have reception while other colleagues have it via cable and have no issues. My students and I joke about our interactions where we may only be able to hear each other one day and the next actually be able to not only hear but see each other. We will conquer this new type of learning and we will all emerge stronger and better. Will things go back to the way they were probably not completely. My hopes are for an improved statewide internet. Not much perhaps in the grand scheme of things, but am willing to take what improvements we can get for all of our students.
