Name: Kim Rupe-Lennox
Role at VAL: Director of Workforce Development
Where were you born? I was born in Rutland and now live in St. Johnsbury.
What is your educational background?
I started my college journey at the Community College of Vermont where I finished my Associate’s Degree before continuing at College St. Joseph to receive a Bachelor in Science. About a year later, I decided to continue my education and completed my Master’s in Business Administration at Fitchburg State University.
Interesting past job?
One of my most interesting and exciting past jobs was when I was the Director of Community Engagement at College St. Joseph where I was able to work with students through the Provider Scholarship Program and provide them direct volunteer and career development opportunities within Rutland County. In some of my other past jobs, I’ve been at the Vermont Country Store, Chamber & Economic Development of the Rutland Region, and the Vermont Council on Rural Development.
What is a unique hobby or interest you have?
Being a tourist in my own state! I enjoy jumping in the car and exploring all that Vermont has to offer.
Last book you read?
It’s almost always a good thriller for me – The Last Word by Taylor Adams
How long have you worked at VAL?
I’m finishing up week one as I’m writing this!
I enjoy working at VAL because it allows me to bring many skills from my background and some of my passions together to support Vermonters and the businesses across our great state.
