It’s an exciting time of year as our Learning Centers are wrapping up another graduation season full of joy, celebration, and pride. For VAL Graduate and Board Member Ashley Griggs, the Windsor County celebration was especially meaningful, as she shares below:
“I attended the VAL graduation for Windsor County, not as a board member but as a very proud cousin. I wanted to say it was a beautiful ceremony! It brought back a lot of memories about my own VAL graduation in 2021.”
A special shout-out to all the staff who took the time to write such wonderful things about not only my cousin Kaleb but each student they had the honor of helping along their journey! It reminded me of the amazing things that VAL does and how it truly changes people’s lives and the amazing connections it can build.
I encourage anyone who has an opportunity to go to the graduations to see it because, especially during the moments when the family can speak in front of everyone about their graduate and the changes they have made in their lives with the help of VAL, you can feel how amazing the opportunity to go to VAL is and how it touches so many! Going to that graduation was truly a full-circle moment for me. I graduated in 2021 in the same place also from VAL but on crutches. So going as a family and board member this time not on crutches was truly an amazing experience!!”
We love seeing families celebrate and support each other at our graduation and recognition ceremonies. Moments like Ashley’s full-circle experience are a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that Vermont Adult Learning has on students, their families, and their communities. Congratulations once again to the Class of 2024, and thank you to everyone who makes these moments so meaningful!
